Dr. Nazir Ahmad

Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Nazir Ahmad, DDS has been performing oral surgery and practicing dentistry in North Carolina since 2008. Dr. Ahmad was raised and lived Raleigh, NC for the past 30 years. He received his undergraduate degree from NC State University and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from the UNC School of Dentistry. Afterwards, he completed a four year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia. During his training, Dr. Ahmad pursued a Masters in Public Health (MPH) – Leadership track to utilize his skills for the benefit of the local population in the community. To better understand the restorative approach and better communicate with dentists, Dr. Ahmad is pursuing the fellowship track with the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Much of the course load is focused on implants and pre-prosthetic surgery. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons are trained, skilled and uniquely qualified to manage and treat a variety of conditions and provide multiple types of care including Dental Implants, extractions, facial trauma, facial deformities, facial reconstruction, oral pathology, and preparation of the mouth for dentures. Utilizing the latest technology and techniques in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, patients are provided the most advanced diagnosis and surgical care. Dr. Cameron Cavola

Dr. Cameron Cavola was born in Los Angeles, CA and spent the vast majority of his childhood in Atlanta, GA. He graduated summa cum laude from The University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D). and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2008. Prior to graduation from dental school he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He started his advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2008 and received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2011. Dr. Cavola received his General Surgery internship certificate in 2012 and in 2014 he served as chief resident of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical Center of Louisiana New Orleans. Dr. Cavola is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He enjoys practicing full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including trauma, cosmetic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, reconstructive jaw surgery, and dentoalveolar surgery. Dr. Cavola is married to Lyndsey and they have two children, Scarlett and Elle. In his free time Dr. Cavola loves to travel with his family.

Dr. Matt Holman

Dr. Matt Holman was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He graduated from Broughton High School in 2003 and graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology and a minor in Genetics. During undergrad, Dr. Holman discovered his love for Oral Surgery through his volunteer work with Wake Smiles and North Carolina Missions of Mercy. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree, graduating with honors from the University of Florida, in 2012. Prior to graduation from dental school, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. Giving back to those less fortunate is a priority to Dr. Holman as he traveled to Ecuador in 2011 and Honduras in 2015. He was able to provide routine dental care and cleft lip and palate surgeries to children. Dr. Holman began his Oral and Maxillofacial residency in 2012 continuing as a Gator at the University of Florida. In 2015-2016, Dr. Holman served as chief resident and earned his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in June 2016. Dr. Holman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Holman also serves as a board member on the Raleigh Wake County Dental Society as Program Chair. Dr. Holman is married to Amy and they have 4 young children. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, golf (a work in progress!) and spending time with his family.

Dr. Christopher Cook

Dr. Christopher Cook was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he graduated with magna cum lade with a degree in Biology. After graduation, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He graduated dental school with honors, which is a distinction given the top 5% of the class. It was during his time at ECU and mentorship from great faculty that he found his calling to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Dr. Cook continued his training in Baltimore, MD where he went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine (M.D) from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine. He also completed a general surgery internship at University of Maryland Medical Center after which he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. During Dr. Cook’s surgical training he had extensive exposure to outpatient ambulatory anesthesia, dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), maxillofacial trauma, reconstructive surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery as well as benign pathology. He currently maintains hospital privileges at UNC Rex system. Dr. Cook is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also volunteers at Wake Smiles providing free dentoalveolar surgery to under-resourced patients living in Wake County area. Dr. Cook is married to his wife Kathleen and they have a daughter, Avery. In his free time Dr. Cook enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Patrick Monahan

Dr. Patrick Monahan was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended NC State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Polymer and Color Chemistry with a concentration in medical sciences and completed a two year master’s degree in Textile Chemistry and Biomedical Sciences. He then earned his DMD degree with honors from ECU School of Dental Medicine. Shortly before graduating from ECU, Dr. Monahan was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. Dr. Monahan then traveled to Pittsburgh, PA to start his surgical training at UPMC where he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship. He then went onto to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Monahan’s surgical training encompassed complex dentoalveolar and implant surgery, extensive outpatient ambulatory anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma/reconstruction, benign pathology, facial cosmetics including Botox and fillers, and temporomandibular joint surgery. Dr. Monahan is married to his wife, Narineh who is a Pediatric Dentist in Cary, NC. He enjoys the outdoors and is avid outdoorsman. He and Narineh enjoy traveling to new places together. Dr. Monahan is excited to return to Raleigh after exploring the northeast to provide fantastic surgical services to his patients.
